Who is the hottest guy in Country music?

August 19th, 2008 by gwen-foster-kmle

Toby Keith was last year’s Country Weekly hunk.  The magazine is letting you decide who is Country’s Sexiest Man.  Trace Adkins?  Tim McGraw?  Keith Urban?  You can vote for one of these or write in your own choice.   Look for the winners in the September 22 issue.  Vote now at  www.countryweekly.com through Aug. 20. The results will be revealed in the Sept. 22 issue of Country Weekly.

If you have a soft place in your heart for cats, a friend of mine has two that are looking for a good home.  Their names are Thelma and Louise, but don’t let their names fool you.  I promise, they would never drive a car off a cliff!

Contact Lelia at ChezHat@aol.com or 602/741-7638 if you are interested in adopting these two beauties.

DO YOU KNOW JACK?

August 11th, 2008 by gwen-foster-kmle

Check out the answers and trivia below…..

DO YOU KNOW JACK?

1.  His character said “You can’t handle the truth!” in the film A Few Good Men. (Voted the 29th greatest American movie quote of all time by the American Film Institute.)    Jack Nicolson playing Colonel

2.   He fell down and broke his crown.   Jack from Jack and Jill.

The origin of the rhyme is obscure and there are several theories that attempt to interpret the lyrics. The rhyme is known to date back to at least the eighteenth century.  Jack and Jill are the 18th century Louis XVI of France, who was deposed and beheaded (lost his crown), and his Queen, Marie Antoinette (who came tumbling after). The words and lyrics were made more palatable for the nursery by giving it a happy ending.

3.  He has a ping-pong ball head and wears a business suit.   Jack-in-the-Box restaurant was founded in 1951 in San Diego, California, where it is still headquartered today.

4.  Goes good with coke (or diet coke).  Jack Daniels.  According to the Jack Daniel’s web site, founder Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel was born in September, 1850

5.  He insists that everyone call him Captain.   Captain Jack Sparrow as played by actor Johnny Depp in
“Pirates of the Carribean”.

6.  You’ll find a prize in every one.    Cracker Jack.  The product’s name is often misstated in a plural form, as in “Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks…” from the song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” even though it is in the singular in the proper version of the song.

7.  All he needs is some carving and a candle.   Jack-O-Lantern is associated chiefly with the holiday Halloween, and was named after the phenomenon of strange light flickering over peat bogs, called ignis fatuus or jack-o’-lantern.

8.  It’s really good on a sandwich.   Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, Co-Jack, or any Jack cheese

9.  He can do just about anything.   Jack of all trades is a figure of speech used in reference to a person who is competent with many skills but is not outstanding in any one.

10.  He has played a guy named Hal and a friar turned wrestler named Nacho.   Jack Black

11.  His name was taken from a letter sent by someone claiming to have committed the murders.     Jack the Ripper

12.  He is the reigning Academy of Country Music New Male Vocalist of the Year.  Jack Ingram!!!

“RAISIN’ McCAIN” - John Rich puts his support in a song

August 1st, 2008 by gwen-foster-kmle

John Rich offered to give John McCain something he didn’t have.  No, John didn’t give him his fur coat!  Rich wrote John McCain a theme song!

John Rich considers it an honor to be connected to McCain.  “This guy is a hero.  He was physically tortured for years, and yet he gets out of bed every day and serves our country for decades.”
