Growing up in central Texas, listening to Country music wasn't a choice for Gwen Foster, it was a way of life! Her father listened to nothing but Country music. His favorite albums included Dolly Parton, Jim Reeves, Roy Clark and Tennessee Ernie Ford. Country music permeated the small town of Stephenville in central Texas where Gwen was raised. She found her own voice singing in school and church choirs, as a soloist and in small groups for community events, and she competed in singing competitions in high school.
After graduating from her hometown college, Tarleton State University with a major in music and business, Gwen moved to San Diego to work for Edens Broadcasting's CHR, Q106. After 2 years in sunny California, it was back to Texas, and her first on-air experience at Dallas country KPLX. Gwen made the move to Phoenix in 1991, where she spent 5 years at KMLE Country 108 as Music Director and mid-day personality. In 1996, Gwen segued to KNIX as the night time personality. She assumed the Music Director position in 2000 and moved to mid-days in 2001. Gwen returned "home" to KMLE in June 2007 as Music Director and mid-day personality.
Gwen celebrated her 15 year marriage to Chris in 2007. They have two children, Dillon, 12 and Lawsen, 9 and live in the east valley.
