After Larry, Peter Van Sant from CBS News called us about a story he’s been working on here in the valley that will air on “48 Hours Mystery” tomorrow night at 9 on CBS 5. Very compelling…and did you know that Peter used to live and work here about 20 years ago…..he reminisced a little bit on the daily podcast.

Today on the show we qualified out first contestant for the tickets to see Garth in LasVegas on opening night. IN order to “get in the hopper” the listener had to play Willy at radio blackjack…and beat him!
And Becky Lynn saw New Moon last night (Twilight 2)…It opens at midnight for all you fans of the book series and the movies! Here’s the story and a little review!
And we had Breakfast Show Idol contestant number 2 in this morning…Kianna Martinez. Tomorrow, number 3 and your chance to vote for who’ll sing at the TnW Christmas Breakfast Show at Night!

Dierks Bentley was In Studio with us today and I hope you not only listened on air, but watched as we streamed it LIVE at kmlenation.com! How cool was that? He was here to promote this weekend’s Music and Miles for Kids, helping raise money for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Tim and Willy will be riding along on Saturday to be followed by a concert at Tempe Marketplace that evening with Jimmy Wayne and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers on the bill! Later in the morning, Phil Vassar called us from his house in Nashville to talk about something he’s doing this holiday season. Today was a wild and crazy day (to quote Steve Martin)
First everything about the news was funny, for some reason. We learned for instance that Jon BonJovi admitted to James Lipton on “Inside the Actors Studio” that he had taken steroids. Sounded like a good reason to haul out “Ban Jovi” !
Tim and Willy were very excited to learn that Sarah Palin is coming to Tempe to sign her book .
And we also learned about a huge Hollywood project to act out the Bible. It’s finished and now available with some really big stars portraying all your favorite Bible characters. But Willy came up with our Zinger of the Day!
A listener called to let us know about a holiday project her company is doing and recruit some help from KMLE fans! Heidi works at Carpen-Perhazle-Wood and they are doing a huge canned food drive very soon. It consists of having teams try to “build” things out of the cans of food they collect. They’re office is at 1400 E. Southern in Tempe…they have about 20 teams lined up to participate and are looking for 10 more. Interested? Becky Lynn interviewed some of the new stars of the movie "New Moon"...the latest in the Twilight Saga which opens this weekend. Charlie Bewley and Daniel Cudmore play Demetri and Felix, members of the Volturi (you Twilight fans know what that means..everyone else, more vampires). Tim and Willy haven't read the Stephanie Meyer book series though and needed a little filling in!
And Molly won the weekend! She was on her honeymoon in Jamaica-mon!
This Wednesday, morning at 7, Dierks Bentley will be in studio with us...you don't want to miss that!
